dannewton just finished a 3.04km walk, that lasted for 64 minutes.
This walk helped dannewton burn 305.0 calories.

Description from Strava: We're here! After a relatively comfortable journey (featuring slightly boring motorway miles), we have arrived in Dalbeattie. It is a small town near Dumfries in the Scottish Lowlands, and its flippin' gorgeous here!

the blue skies, and sunshine is a welcome bonus too!

We have a little self catering lodge for the just the two of us, it's probably one of the nicest we have stayed in over the years AND it's also nestled into a the local woodland, which means we have lovely walks on forest trails right on our doorstep!

In fact, after unpacking the car, we decided we needed to go check out one of the trails straight away. It was a lovely wander in the sunshine for an hour or so. A little part of me was frustrated as I would love to go for some runs out here, but I'm gonna be good and try to just enjoy the walking and the beautiful scenery.

Tonight, I will be moth trapping, which I'm very excited for, and then tomorrow we can go and explore the are properly

note: we are off the beaten track slightly so the signal is intermittent, I will reply to comments when I can...

About the Athlete: Living in the UK, I am an intermittent Runner, but always striving for more consistency. When I'm not training I can be found photographing insects or listening to really loud angry music (which is the best type of music obviously!)

Sounds like a nice place to chill out. Good luck on your moth hunt. You'll need a lot to make decent meal ;)

it was a beautiful place, and a shame to be back home now lol.

I did indeed see lots of moths, but I'm not sure how tasty they are haha!

I think I'll stick to !PIZZA 😉

Now begins the task of sifting through the thousands of photos...!

I love taking photos but struggle to keep up with the organisation of the handful of snaps I take (let alone the double or triple that that Brad sends me each trip!). I can't even imagine being more a dedicated photographer like you and having oooodles to sort through! !LOL

Glad you got to explore somewhere new, even if you're home again now :P

That's a very interesting place you've landed in!

Groovy to be on holiday. Enjoy!!!

No replies necessary and I'll keep it short so you can enjoy the country and woods. And be in the moment with the moths and butterflies. 😊

It was gorgeous, never been before... it was an amazing place. I made a concerted effort to avoid as much social media/fbook/emails as I could, and I was mostly successful in that. It was a much needed break.
