Night time run

I just finished a 5.226km running that lasted about 0hh:34mm:8ss !

TL;DR - Trying out a night time run, not too bad, but could do with a head torch to help avoid potholes!

A quick post tonight, as I'm running out of time lol. I wrote about trying to squeeze a couple of runs in during the week, and because my work shifts have changed (new job etc) I will now have to try running in the evening.

So here we go, its hard to get motivated, so after I arrived home from work today at 6:30pm, I immediately changed my clothes, laced up my trainings and headed back out again before I could get comfortable.

Its flippin' dark out there you know! I know there are streetlights, but they are really adequate, and I was concentrating the whole time on where I was going so I could avoid twisting my ankle in any potholes. Because of this, I chose to stick to a loop around the village where the rubbish lighting was better than nothing... I really could do with a decent headtorch.... maybe if I'm good Santa will bring me one?

It was quite a pleasant run in the end, a slow and steady 5km. Its cold and dark so there were few people to get in my way, and after being sat in an office for 8 hours it felt good to stretch my legs. And at least I proved to myself that if I really want to run/exercise, then I can easy fit it in on an evening,

Right, time for tea (chilli con carne ready meal, what a treat ;-) ) and then I can carry on sorting some stuff out (those shirts won't iron themselves!)

pretty dark out there!

Running in the dark can be iffy. I think there are some fancy head torches now that give a wide spread of light. I will consider one if I have to run more in the dark, but at least it's lighter in the mornings now. Stay safe.
