Cold and dark

I just finished a 5.197km running that lasted about 0hh:30mm:24ss !

TL;DR - So cold in fact I decided to pick up the pace so I could return home sooner!

Another night time run. Once again, I had only just got home from work, and immediately got changed and headed back out again. The busses were actually run on time to day, so not only was I able to get to work early (and therefore start my shift early, but it meant I could get the earlier bus home again.

Similar to tuesdays run I chose to do a loop around the village, as the path is mostly flat and its reasonably well lit by streetlights. But unlike tuesdays mild 9C, tonight it was barely touching 2C... pretty chilly. I put on a hat and gloves to ward of the worst of it. Its mostly to stop me loosing the feeling in my fingers, as I'm still generally quite comfortable in this temperature of just shorts and a t-shirt.

Pace-wise, I set of slightly quicker than I intended, but to be honest I felt quite good today, full of energy after a productive day at work. So instead of slowing down I decided to push on and stretch myself a little bit.... felt good.

Now to put my feet up and rest this evening.... next run will be a 'long run' on Saturday, weather permitting....

I need gloves when it's at freezing or below, but sometimes have to take them off when I warm up. Is there a parkrun anywhere near you? There are a lot of them these days.

There is one about 3 miles away. I don't drive though, and I don't fancy sitting on the bus in shorts lol. I really should try looking into it anyway, just for a change.

And to be fair it would be nice to be involved in a running event with other people, my last 'race' was a 10k about 6 years ago....

Maybe someone near you drives there. I'm sure you would enjoy it if you can get there. It's some extra inspiration.
