Splinterbowl FFL - Playoff Semifinals

We are down to the Final Four in our @Splinterlands Fantasy Football League (American), aptly named #Splinterbowl. The top two teams from the regular season got a bye through the quarterfinals and will now face their first taste of elimination games. Here are the matchups:

I will be up against @hawks21 in the 1-4 matchup and @aftersound takes on @dejota in the 2-3 matchup. On paper, both myself and Dejota are underdogs based on projected stats, but the games are played on the field where anything can happen.

Truth be told, Tyreek Hill, George Kittle, and the Dallas defense carried my team through the regular season and they are all facing tough matchups in Week 16. I'm at a distinct disadvantage at QB (Allen vs. Murray) and RB/FLEX (Etienne, Taylor, McCaffrey vs. Chandler, Mixon, and McBride). Hawks also has a deeper receiving core, so my only strengths are slim at TE and K. I am a double-digit dog and don't have much hope, but miracles can happen. I wouldn't bet on it though.

Dejota has a slightly better chance of pulling off the upset, but it will be tough. Dejota really needs the deadly duo of Hurts and AJ Brown to come through in a big way, since Aftersound holds the advantage at TE with Kelce and at RB with Henry and White vs. Cook and Pacheco. The WR corp on both teams are solid, so I think both teams have a shot, and the pre-snap spread between these two teams was within a few points on paper.

By the end of Christmas Day, two more teams will be eliminated and a Splinterbowl Final will be ready for Week 17. If I were a betting man, I would put my money on both of the top Splinterlands streamers making it through to the championship game. I wonder if there will be any stream challenges between the two online personalities. Of course, one is known while the other is anon. Either way, we should have a good battle on our hands if the two top teams end up making it to the finals. Until next week, Merry Christmas & Happy Holidays! Cheers!
