Una de las provincias del país, con los aficionados a la pelota más complicados, en cuanto exigencias de buenos resultados, pudiera ser fácilmente la más Occidental de la Mayor de las Antillas. Aunque cada quien pudiera dar su propio criterio regional muy particular, pero la verdad es que se empaña el espectáculo, si se le pudiera llamar así a lo que últimamente estamos apreciando, jugar en un estadio con tu propio público en contra.

Pinar del Río es una región famosa no solo por ofrecer la maravilla del mejor tabaco del mundo, el que se cosecha en sus tierras por hombres conocedores del arte tabacalero, de muchas generaciones dedicadas a tal obra. Pinar es, además, una especie de fábrica de hacer peloteros, entre los que se pudieran mencionar muchos, pero el que a mi criterio es uno de sus hijos más ilustres, el caso de Omar Linares, o "el niño Linares" como fuera bautizado desde muy temprana edad donde demostraba sus dotes al bate. Así como una defensa de oficio, en su tercera base, por donde el que lo vio jugar te podría decir que por ahí no se podía batear.

La Serie Nacional de Béisbol, auspiciada por la Federación Cubana de Béisbol (FCB), año por año, siempre ha dependido, de un presupuesto que se destina, a modo de país, para desarrollar la misma, como mismo ocurre con las demás esferas del deporte bajo el mando del Instituto Nacional de Deporte y Recreación (INDER). Su éxito, además, ha tenido un gran peso en el llamado al éxito, debido a la disposición de los directivos tanto a nivel nacional como provinciales. A los que en los últimos años se les ha quedado grande el crear iniciativas que permitan, que las nuevas generaciones, disfruten de lo que antes conocíamos como béisbol de calidad, aun cuando con menos condiciones se lograron muchas alegrías.

Todos se preguntan, el porqué de este resultado negativo, de un equipo que empezaría una campaña bastante bien, aunque para nada, al menos a criterio personal, estuve engañado en cuanto a nómina. Más no puede ser posible para el fanático, el grado del resultado negativo tan radical, en que se ha decaído el equipo de los dirigidos por Alexander Urquiola Jr. De quienes a modo de cariño paternal, pudiera decir que se presentan en un bache psicológico del cual no logran salir, producto de muchos factores internos, así como externos que solo ellos pueden ser capaces de superar.

Fueron Los Vegueros de Pinar del Río, quienes en su posición de visitantes, fabricaron par de anotaciones cerrando el segundo tercio del encuentro, logrando así, igualar el marcador tanto como para tomar ventaja, esta vez por la mínima, pero sería lo suficiente para alzarse con la victoria.
