Thanks for coming by today!

Wednesday’s are my Monday as I’ve said many times before. Working 3 days a week is awesome, but sometimes, you forget where you left off because of those four off days! 😜

It usually takes a little bit to get my work hat on, so to speak. Today saw us with patients starting 30 minutes before our normal start time. We’ve been super busy and I suppose it’s partially due to the closing of a Bellingham optical shop back in late 2022. A lot of our new patients are from that place.

It was a busy day. I was interrupted so many time ordering one patient’s glasses. I began working on his process around 11:00. AM. I finally finished his order at 2:45 PM! It’s really hard to constantly be called away while ordering. It’s when mistakes are likely to happen. I caught the typo on his RX because I always double check, but it could easily have been missed. A crazy day for sure!

I know that feeling of being distracted 100 times while trying to complete a task that needs concentration and focus. I tend to lock myself away and hide to get things done.

If only I could do that! I am the only person who: is the licensed optician; helps patients choose their optical needs and order them; order contacts for patients; deals with insurance; bills the insurance; pays the bills for the clinic; orders the frames for the displays; PR for the clinic; IT for the computers and whatnot; deal with tons of phone calls both favorable and sometimes not favorable.....well you get the idea. I do pretty much everything but give the actual eye exam. The only time I truly have to myself is before we open when I keep the door locked! If I unlocked it, even with the lights out, people would walk on in as it's happened in the past.

Haha - I can see you have a lot of responsibilities there which I can sense will be quite tiring. You can't lock yourself away like me ;)
