Same Stuff Another Year

It's the last year College Football is doing the 4-team Playoff. Next year, we will see the expanded 12-team setup and massive conference realignments. Instead of P5, we will only have P4 as Pac-12 fades into oblivion. Geographic boundaries will no longer apply in favor of revenues and profits.

Anyway, it's the middle of the season. Things are heating up. Soon, we shall have a better picture of this year's Playoff lineup. So far, I believe Georgia, the Big Ten/Big 12 champions, and the runner-up from one of the Big conferences will take the spots. Granted, that probably won't happen if Florida State takes the ACC undefeated.

The biggest game for this weekend will be the Penn State vs. Ohio State game.

I am hopeful the Nittany Lions will give the Buckeyes a show. If Penn State can split between Ohio State and Michigan, I think there's a chance they can take the Big Ten championship and have a shot at the national title game. I don't think Michigan is the team this year since their only high-stakes games are against Penn State and Ohio State.

On the other hand, BYU is doing better than expected. While that TCU game was pathetic to watch, there's still a chance for BYU to have a respectable first year in the Big 12. I know the Cougars haven't done great in recent homecoming games, so there's a sense of nervousness in hoping they will beat Texas Tech. For most fans, BYU has already exceeded their expectations.

Stay tuned for more in the weeks to come!

Well Ohio pulled out the win and did BYU. I must admit BYU has done better than expected this year, and that TCU game wasn't even really a competition. Utah has pulled out a great win and are doing really well considering their injuries.

Georgia is of course the team to beat, but they are tough. Florida State is still undefeated. This last half of the season should be interesting!

Ugh I was sad that Penn State lost. But at least it wasn’t a beat down.

BYU is doing better than expected. They may get that 7-6 or 6-7 season this year.

I was impressed that Utah beat USC in an away game. The odds were against them. But, I still think Washington and Oregon are the top dogs in Pac-12 this year.

I was pulling for Penn too since I lived in Philly for a few years. I agree, Washington and Oregon both have strong teams this year.

I'm really excited for the expanded 12-team playoff next year. It's going to be great to see more teams get a chance to compete for the national title. I'm also curious to see how the conference realignment plays out. It's going to be interesting to see how the new conferences look and how they compete against each other.

For this year's playoff, I agree that Georgia and the Big Ten/Big 12 champions are likely to take the top spots. However, if Florida State can go undefeated in the ACC, they could definitely make a case for one of the top four spots.

I’m still waiting for the day for a team like Boise State to embarrass a big brand.

What happened to college is something that a person always remembers throughout his life and I myself like watching and playing football very much, so it is a sport that keeps a person very healthy and also keeps the heart attached.

I don’t know about that. American football is hazardous.
