pavane [#poprzeczka December 2025 #04]

Slow paced day without much movement. Two doggy walks. The second one in the rain.

In between two training sessions without counting steps. Some exercises with own weight, balls, ropes, a stick too. It felt good.

Tomorrow Friday with office work. Then weekend, skiing again.

The weather will turn from rain now to snow over this night, and back to nice days. The conditions on slopes will be perfect.

While figuring out how to title this report I thought about the book by Keith Roberts, Pavane.

Keith Roberts’s Pavane is a classic alternate‑history science‑fiction novel (technically a “fix‑up” of linked stories) first published in 1968, set in a 20th‑century England where the Catholic Church still rules after a successful Spanish Armada invasion in 1588. It is best known for its richly detailed feudal setting, slow technological development, and its blend of political, religious, and mythic themes

I love this book for its thorough description of a slow paced society that eventually breaks free and liberates itself. Read it, will you?!
