Life Hacks
Let's face it - adulting can be tough sometimes. Between work, chores, and everything in between, we could all use a few shortcuts to make life run a little smoother. I'm known for my obsession with productivity.So my ‘life hacks’ are related to that.
I’ve got 2, one of which I apply in all matters in life, and one I use during work.
For all matters in life I have the 2-minute rule.
Basically, if a task takes less than two minutes to complete, like responding to an email, filing a document, or tidying up your desk, putting away that thing on your desk - do it right away instead of putting it off for later when you notice you can do it.
When it comes to staying productive at work, I swear by the Pomodoro Technique!
It's a pretty well-known time management method, and perhaps not applicable to everyone's working schedule, but for those who haven't heard of it, here's the gist:
You break your workday into focused 20-25 minute intervals (lovingly called "pomodoros") and separate them with short 5-minute breaks. It's like a productivity dance - focus, break, focus, break... you get the idea!
After you've conquered 4 of these pomodoros, treat yourself to a longer break of 15-30 minutes.
As someone who works from home a lot, I find these breaks are lifesavers for making sure I actually get up, stretch my legs, and refill my water glass to stay hydrated. And those longer breaks? They're perfect for tackling quick chores like starting a load of laundry, stepping outside for a breath of fresh air and some vitamin D, or (let's be real) getting lost in social media.
