Sunrisers Hyderabad and Mumbai Indians faced each other in the eighth match of the IPL yesterday. Fans witnessed the drama in this match held at Sunrisers Hyderabad's home ground. Sunrisers Hyderabad made a record by batting first, and Mumbai Indians also set the run chase record. But, Mumbai Indians led by Hardik Pandya lost this match by 523 runs. The team lost only by 31 runs!

This match between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Mumbai Indians is held at Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium, Hyderabad. At the beginning of this match, Mumbai Indians captain Hardik Pandya decided to bowl after winning the toss. The main goal of the team was to turn around in this match after the loss of the first match. The team formed a strong eleven with local and foreign players. But Mumbai Indians failed to implement their plan!

After losing the toss, Sunrisers Hyderabad, who batted first, started well. Travis Head, who was added to the team in this match, went on a batting rampage along with Indian youngster Abhishek Sharma. Sunrisers Hyderabad completed 150 runs in the first ten overs. Trevis Head scored 62 runs off 24 balls and Abhishek Sharma scored 63 runs off 23 balls. After the departure of these two batsmen, two African players, Henry Klassen and Markaram, ran riot with the bat.

One of the best T20 batsmen of the present time, Henry Klaasen remained unbeaten with 80 runs off 34 balls. Markaram on the other hand gives him worthy company. As a result, the team collected a record of 277 runs in the prescribed 20 overs. It is the record for the highest runs scored in an innings in T20 cricket history. Earlier in 2013, Royal Challengers Byagaluru set a record by collecting 263 runs with Chris Gayle's incredible batting. After 11 long years, Hyderabad took possession of that record.

Mumbai Indians got off to a great start as they went on a huge run chase. In the first three overs, Mumbai completed the team's half-century. However, when Rohit Sharma and Ishan Kishan departed on 56 and 66 runs, the team came under pressure. Tilak Verma and Naman Dhir went on a batting rampage to mitigate this pressure. Mumbai completed their quota of 150 runs in just 10.3 overs. So the team had a chance to score 120 runs in the last 9.3 overs to win. But in the end, Captain Hardik Pandya failed to keep the wheels of the run moving!

Team David hit one boundary after another to reduce the runs gap, but in the end, Mumbai Indians lost by 31 runs. However, even though Mumbai lost, many records were created in this match. Sunrisers Hyderabad's 277 and Mumbai Indians' 246 resulted in a record of 523 runs in men's T20 cricket. Along with that, the two teams have written their names in several other records including the highest six, highest second innings total in one match in the history of IPL!
