Los eternos aspirantes en ésta división, los Mets de Nueva York, han tenido una estupenda pretemporada jugando para balance de 14 triunfos y 10 derrotas. Y si a eso les sumamos el puesto 16 en los power rankings, podemos ya intuir el porqué serán uno de los aspirantes. Y entonces ¿Por qué le damos el cuarto puesto de la división? Bueno, es una lista interminable de dudas: nuevos dueños, nuevo manager, inconsistencia en el cuerpo de abridores y pare usted de contar. Puede que usted no lo crea, pero siguen siendo una de las nóminas más caras del juego, por ello no son descartables si la rotación y Edwin Díaz -desde el relevo- pueden facilitar el camino.

     Los Marlins de Miami han tenido un spring training para el olvido, hasta ayer tenían balance de 8 ganados y 12 perdidos, lo que refuerza el puesto 23 en los power rankings. Sin embargo, ambas clasificaciones son engañosas. Recuerden algo, ellos acabaron con la reconstrucción al punto que pasaron a postemporada en el 2023. Sí, fue como comodines y se quedaron en la primera vuelta, pero ahora tienen un mejor balance en la rotación encabezada por el zurdo venezolano Jesús Luzardo. Y la ofensiva no se queda atrás con el campeón bate Luis Arráez y la firma de Tim Anderson, otro ex-campeón de bateo. La rivalidad con Atlanta y Filadelfia será a muerte, porque se tienen la misma animadversión. Tercer lugar en la división a pesar de todo.

     Los Filis de Filadelfia están jugando para balance de 8 ganados y 13 perdidos. Una primavera nada agradable la cual es aliviada por la cuarta posición en el power ranking de la MLB. A este equipo no le ha importado clasificar como comodines las dos últimas temporadas, porque siempre logran ir más allá. Y si consideramos la extensión a Zack Wheeler en la temporada baja y la conservación del núcleo del equipo, no podemos dudar que darán pelea a muerte a los Bravos ¿Por qué no de número uno? Simple, es un equipo que se encuentra avanzado en edad y esto siempre será factor de duda. Por ello se quedarán con el segundo puesto de la división.

     Si le preguntan fuera de competencia a Orlando Arcia, como sintió aquella mirada de Harper, seguro les responderá: "estamos en una nueva temporada, no me importa" Y esa será la actitud de un equipo que juega para 11 ganados y 13 perdidos en la primavera, pero se encuentra apoyado en la azotea de los power rankings. No hay lugar en los Bravos de Atlanta donde el talento no rebose. Quizás la única duda sea el jardín izquierdo. Pero un equipo que ha quedado en primer lugar los últimos seis años y conserva el talento intacto ¿Creen ustedes va a quedar más abajo que el primer lugar? Solo si sucede un desastre.
