Una deportiva fiesta de cumpleaños fue la que INDERZA ( Instituto del Deporte de Zamora ) organizó junto a autoridades locales e instituciones educativas a finales de este pasado mes de mayo para celebrar el tricentenario de la fundación de la también conocida la pequeña "Atenas Cultural" de Aragua, es decir; la ciudad de Villa de Cura fundada por el abuelo paterno del libertador Simón Bolívar el Sr. Don Juan de Bolívar y Villegas a finales de el año 1722.

El escenario fue los espacios abiertos de la Plaza Miranda; lugar desde donde se inició el proceso fundacional de la ciudad y donde están ubicados a su alrededor las casas más antiguas de la ciudad; entre ellos las viviendas de techos de tejas rojas que albergan los edificios de la administración pública como la alcaldía, el consejo municipal y la Iglesia Matriz San Luis Rey principal centro de la fe católica de todos los villacuranos.

El Pin Pon es un juego y deporte que aunque no se practica en muchos espacios de los centros educativos del Municipio algunas escuelas y liceos poseen por lo menos una o dos mesas para la practica del mismo bien sea desarmable como la que observamos en la imagen o fina de cemento construida por los mismos estudiantes como la de la escuela San Luis Rey de Villa de Cura.

Los niños se acercaban a observar la dinámica de este deporte y un instructor que jugaba con ellos les servía de profesor al mismo tiempo ya que explicaba como debe ser la postura correcta, como tomar las raquetas con las manos y como
golpear la pequeña pelota saltarina de color blanco sobre la mesa en un juego que también es conocido como Tenis de Mesa por muchas personas.
