One of the main reasons for this hesitancy (from going to the surgery) is the high cost of surgery. They have to pay 4-5 times their monthly salary to do surgery. So, they want to take a chance first.

It's good to hear that your son survived the burst appendix. How did it go that far? Was he homeless at that time too? [I read posts about your son (sons) being homeless!].

No, my son was not homeless but he did not have the funds to see a Dr and he did not know what was wrong. If he would have been living near me, I would have been checking on him and I would have known something serious was wrong sooner. He just thought he was sick and would get over it. I am so thankful the girl came by when she did and her mother was a nurse and told her to get him to the hospital.
