RE: Back to Field

It is good to get back out there and listen to your body. I know the struggle of excess weight only too well. For me the most important things are feeling well and being mobile.

I lost 75lbs last year by logging my food (which is a pain, but it develops awareness of how much we are eating and how many calories are in the food) and by very gentle exercise. By "gentle exercise," I mean walking and swimming. What made the difference was that I persistently did the exercise several times per day.

I recently started to add resistance (weight lifting) to my day. I cannot do much in this regard, but building muscle is important. Why? For one thing, the muscle burns more calories, so then, we can eat the same amount, but shrink.

Maybe you know all this already!

It is fascinating to meet a lady who doesn't know her age. I agree that a simple life is enviable although if one doesn't have much, it can be quite tragic even when some small thing goes wrong. For example, I broke my foot a few years ago. What would this lady do if she broke her foot? It seems like it might be a disaster for her while for me it was painful and quite inconvenient.

Why are my comments so very long sometimes?

That means, you are very focused on everything that you do every day 👍 After I start my day, I can barely control it. I wish to do something in the evening, but most of the time, it ends up with continuous client calls.

I have definitely reduced my non-veg this month - good that we have niche traditions that does not allow us to bring them home. But you are right - muscles helps us so much to shed more weight without cutting the food. And I like football the most because its a entire body exercise and that post game discussion and fighting are real fun to relieve stress.

It is much harder when you have a challenging job I think. I was able to set a timer for regular intervals and then set a timer for the length of time I wanted to exercise (which was very short, but frequent). I think for some people, it also helps to get a pedometer and have a step goal each day (or hour). That helps me, but my steps are quite low. I do my best, but I am slow.

When I was at the swimming pool the other day, a lady commented that I swam for a long time. I think it was because I am still very fat and it surprised her to see a fat lady swim for an hour without stopping. However, it took me a long time to build up to that, and, while I have stamina, I sometimes wish they had an "extra extra slow" lane for me. Fortunately, most people are kind, and the pool is not very crowded because of the pandemic. I am grateful that it is open!
