Rest as a means to prevent injuries.




It is important to understand that our body needs time to recover and repair itself. It happens that during training, especially when we perform higher intensity training, small micro-injuries or micro-ruptures occur in our fibers, including muscle fibers, and at the same time we exhaust or At least we significantly reduce our glycogen reserves, which is neither more nor less than the main fuel in many of the physical activities we do.


Rest allows our body to repair these small micro-injuries and restore our energy levels, which is essential for muscle growth and physical performance in general, but in addition to this, rest is also essential to prevent injuries, when we train without giving up. our body long enough to recover, we increase the risk of having some problem due to overuse.


Injuries such as plantar fasciitis, stress fractures and muscle tears are very common among athletes of all levels who do not respect rest properly. These breaks are what allow our tissues to repair, reduce inflammation and help strengthen the body. in general, which reduces the risk of injury.
