! [English Version]
The sports world and especially in Major League Baseball we have observed that in recent years more information content is obtained than that of the same show business, gone are those years where there was great secrecy and gossip or any information remained in the four walls of the dugout, now we see scandals for abuses or excesses that are given by the players thanks to the large amount of money they earn and the fame they have acquired, We see love affairs with images of music or movies, and not to mention the issue of illegal gambling that has been on the table in recent weeks, but that is a topic that deserves an entire publication, but in addition to the above mentioned there is great concern about the large number of injured pitchers in recent years and there are many causes that some specialists say to justify these injuries, then we will mention the ones that arouse more interest in me.

It is very striking that the pitchers who have been suffering terrible injuries are those who throw balls over 95 miles per hour, the operation named Tommy John, was given that title, because the first baseball player who underwent this operation was called that way, this surgical procedure consists of using an autologous graft, that is to say, some tendons can be substituted from one arm to the other, it was performed for the first time by Dr. Frank Jobe, head of the Los Angeles Angels' medical team, and it was performed by Dr. Frank Jobe, head of the Los Angeles Angels' medical team. autologous graft, that is to say, some tendons can be substituted from one arm to the other, it was performed for the first time by Dr. Frank Jobe, head of the medical team of the Los Angeles Dodgers. Los Angeles Dodgers, that was in the 70's, this procedure was rarely done, but as the new pitchers developed so much strength in their deliveries, this surgery is seen more frequently in very young pitchers, nowadays it is more common to see pitchers of more than 98 miles than in previous years, The scouts are increasingly demanding more and more when signing a player, hence the trainers overload the players with strong work routines to increase the speed of their straight lines and this is undoubtedly one of the reasons why their arms have a shorter useful life and have to resort to the aforementioned operation.

There are those who put on the table a second cause of major pitcher injuries and that option is not so far-fetched, the theory that the changes in the time a pitcher must wait between pitches is causing serious damage to the arms of pitchers, although the clock is being implemented since last season in the big leagues, In the minor leagues this has been going on for a couple of years and it is no coincidence that injuries have increased dramatically in the minor league system, according to reports from the major league organizations themselves, more than 200 pitchers have been injured in the minor leagues in a period of two years and most of them have had to undergo the Tommy John procedure. In my opinion both theories are valid, since it is not healthy to have a player who throws more than 90 pitches with an average velocity between 97 and 98 miles and that the rest between each pitch is less than 15 seconds, the effort is increased by more than 50% of the usual, and to put the icing on the cake, now with men on bases will be 18 seconds, two less than last season, I think the number of elbow injuries will increase at an alarming rate, MLB in its eagerness to reduce playing time may also reduce the running time of some pitchers, many say that this is a myth and that these injuries are part of the game, but I think they are a reality with verifiable causes, it will dawn and we will see what actions will take the 30 franchises together with MLB to counteract this problem that is already beginning to alarm many experts in the field.
