When you only enter half the race, they ship your bike to the midway starting point, then Bus you there. Timing starts the moment you cross the start line. This is important because due to the number of contestants, you might not get out there 2 hours after the first Bus load left.

Wow good like a pretty big event. I would be checking everything was still in working order after the transportation.
These guys are pretty reliable and over the years I've never heard of any problems. Now you made me think if I should've insured my bike, considering back then it cost me just under $3000NZ, the thought never crossed my mind.
Yea bikes are not cheap. I don't think the insurance is worth it, but I was more thinking something might become loose during transport.
