Tradition should be changed at Wimbledon

Recently I was reading some comments on a social network because of a post in a tabloid about whether to change the color white worn by tennis players at Wimbledon. This usually makes women who are on their period and participating in the tournament uncomfortable. Forcing a woman to wear white while on her period can be embarrassing for them.

As far as tradition is concerned, I believe that the United Kingdom is one of the countries that is most attached to its traditions, I think they do not like to modify or change anything that is tradition in the country and in sport.

Wimbledon is characterized by its elegance not only on the courts but also in the stands as it is common to see people wearing white, a code that seems not to have changed since its inception in 1800, the use of white clothing is done to minimize sweat stains on the clothes of tennis players.

But shouldn't a tradition be modified for the moral integrity of the tennis players?
moral integrity of the tennis players?

I wonder if there was something that was detrimental to the men's side, wouldn't it have been modified already. Tennis players are forced to wear all white clothing, there have been cases in which tennis players have been forced to change their clothes for violating the dress code precisely, in 2013 Roger Federer had to change his shoes because they were orange soles.

I can't imagine how stressful it must be for a woman to play in the most important tournament in the sport and not be able to perform at her best because of her menstruation. Already Qinwen Zheng talked about how she was hurt in her loss to Iga Swiatek, when her performance was diminished by menstrual cramps.

Tennis players often talk about the things they have to do so that nothing embarrassing happens to them during play, tennis players often use tampons, plus extra large sanitary napkins so that there is no blood stain on their clothes.

It must be difficult for a tennis player to go out and play when they have hundreds of cameras following them, as well as photographers following them at every moment. Women wearing skirts makes it more difficult for them because the skirts are tucked in and their underwear is exposed.

Why not do something so that the athletes can do what they love the most like playing sports feeling as comfortable as possible?

Something as easy as allowing the tennis players' underwear to be a different color would be a great first step, because surely there will be tennis players who do not feel comfortable playing in skirts and prefer to play in shorts, which is already a somewhat more personal decision for them, as some might feel sexualized in those garments.

If it is already difficult for women in sports to make their way in, why not make it easier for them to perform at their best. Imagine that a girl is going to play the Wimbledon final and she is on her period, how difficult it will be for her to give her best and also have to deal with cameras focusing on her all the time, it is not easy.

Some rules should be changed for the good of the sport, the fact that they are a tradition does not mean that they cannot be modified. The neuralgic point of all this is not whether women menstruate or not but why force them to wear a garment with which they can spend an embarrassing moment.

Watch out for the human traffickers at hivefest. You wont know it until its too late. STAY AWAY! Beware, traffickers can be women or men! They will act nice until they dont. There is human trafficking going on around this type of crypto. I have witnessed it. They literally have attempted my murder and are trying to kill me with V2K and RNM. Five years this has been happening to me, it started here, around people that are still here. Homeland security has done nothing at all, they are not here to protect us. Dont we pay them to stop shit like this? The NSA, CIA, FBI, DHS, Police and our Government has done nothing. Just like they did with the Havana Syndrome, nothing. Patriot Act my ass. The American government is completely incompetent. The NSA should be taken over by the military and contained Immediately for investigation. I bet we can get to the sources of V2K and RNM then. https://ecency.com/fyrstikken/@fairandbalanced/i-am-the-only-motherfucker-on-the-internet-pointing-to-a-direct-source-for-voice-to-skull-electronic-terrorism ..... https://ecency.com/gangstalking/@acousticpulses/electronic-terrorism-and-gaslighting--if-you-downvote-this-post-you-are-part-of-the-problem if you run into one of them you may want to immediately shoot them in the face. 187, annihilate, asphyxiate, assassinate, behead, bleed, bludgeon, boil, bomb, bone, burn, bury, butcher, cap, casket, choke, chop, club, crucify, crush, curb, decapitate, decimate, deflesh, demolish, destroy, devein, disembowel, dismember, drown, electrocute, eliminate, end, euthanize, eviscerate, execute, explode, exterminate, extinguish, finish, fry, grind, guillotine, gut, hack, hang, hit, ice, implode, incinerate, kill, liquidate, lynch, massacre, maul, microwave, mutilate, neutralize, obliterate, off, pop, poison, punnish, quarter, ruin, shank, shock, shoot, shred, skin, slay, slaughter, smoke, smother, snipe, snuff, squish, stab, strangle, stone, suffocate, suicide, SWAT, swing, terminate, torture, terrorize, whack, waste, wreck. Good point and agree in this case as they are very strict on clothing. Many players have tried in the past and have come unstuck as the rule is predominantly white clothing only. Agassi tried with black shorts ages ago and had to change and that is their rules and still don't think they will ever change from this.

You are absolutely right I don't think this is going to change anytime soon unless there are more voices being used for a change, which I see as difficult.
But yes this situation should at least be considered or debated.

I have often wondered why but then how do they cope when they are uncomfortable, must have been hard...It looks lovely I would definitely agree but I think comfort over looking lovely...it should be in view for a change..

You make a really good point and in this instance, I would say leave things as is for men, but allow women to wear shorts of they wish, as well as darker clothes, perhaps just allow back bottom half as an option?

You are right maybe this does not affect the males and maybe the tradition will remain as it is for them, but modify it a bit at least for the ladies.

I see your reasoning, and I agree with you in this instance because they have quite stringent requirements for clothes. Because the regulation states that players must wear mostly white attire, a number of players, including Gabriela Sabatini, have attempted it in the past but have failed.

So it's silly I think, maybe they should at least modify the underwear of the athletes, if not allowed to change all the clothes at least would be an advance to allow wearing dark underwear.
