Restarting Intermittent Fasting for 2 weeks

In Malaysia, it is really hard not to eat, because the culture embraces food as part of the essential of life haha…

However, recently, I have started to really only concentrate on 2 meals a day and re-starting my overnight oats, with cleaner food instead of the usually oily, spicy, and flavourful foods of Malaysia. This is partly also because I have noticed that my usually “larger-than-life” calves recently feels really tight with minimal water retention.

This usually also happens when I have been standing too much; and with conducting + hospital runs, eating habits aren’t the best, sleeping habits aren’t great either, and at some point something has to change.

Not to mention that last year I realized I fell into the “overweight” category and needed to make a change immediately.

Despite of trying to maintain going to the local community’s (sort of rundown) gym, my weight was yoyo-ing especially when I had too much carbs (to save money to pay bills), and up to the point that I kept feeling bloated this got to change. So I started with the “weighted Hula Hoop” and my “love handles” have started reducing, however the fat % is still too high for my body and I needed to adjust further.

In the end, I have to make it a point that I got to at least restart my overnight oats routine again during weekdays…

… and eventually, I am impressed (by God and with HIS help) I started emphasizing 2 meals a day.

Sometimes I do slip and due to long day of work which resulted lesser exercise; but as long as I persevere it could still work.

Results starting to show!

Up till June this year I was still struggling on food intake (for the sake of staying awake from unbalanced sleep hours) and my obesity level went up higher and higher; but once I started 2 meals a day around a little over 2 weeks ago, things started to change a little.

You might cringe at my method, but yes my faith does help a lot because of the help from the Holy Spirit

Being consistently under pressured the last year with overwhelmingly frequent hospital episodes of my parents, my gastric that left me for decades started resurfacing. And to keep a 2 meal a day routine can be almost impossible without higher power intervention, and boy am I glad that worked! Halellujah!

Right now I know that my weight is still slightly yoyo-ng, my new achievements hitting 1000 rounds under 10 minutes is really helping me to reduce my visceral fat.

Though I still have 2% of obesity count to reduce, it actually requires a lot of hard work to keep building my muscles while at it.


I even acquired a calf massager in hope to see if there will be some positive change to at least squeeze out some of that water retention out and break some stubborn cellulite to help my ankle to sustain my weight.

A long journey ahead indeed

Setting back on track is definitely a really tough journey; and if it is easy it will never be a long term sustaining solution

I for one do know that my body is thanking me with all the fibres that I am putting in at least alternate mornings because my “toilet breaks” are much smoother and faster.
