Too much sleep debt? - Evening Run

I just finished a 13.597km running that lasted about 1hh:5mm:6ss !

Probably because of a sleep deficit rising dangerously high, I felt a bit sluggish, with a slight headache and heavy legs, and no motivation. It might be counter intuitive, but when that happens, going for a run or a bike ride usually helps a lot. After a couple miles, the headache mostly disappears, legs start to move better and the tiredness due to lack of sleep switches to tiredness due to exercise. In short, I feel much better after exercising. Therefore that's what I did today and it worked once again. Plus, it was another great day to run with sun and cool temperature in the low 60s (around 16 degrees Celsius).

Like I already mentioned, with this sudden drop in temperature, bugs are gone. It probably won't last, so it's a good time to run in the woods. I started there, but after about 2 miles, I hit a root and almost fell. That was a big stumble, I'm not even sure how I managed to get back on my feet without falling flat on my face. I kind of thought it would trigger the fall detection on my watch, but it seems it needs more than that. Anyways, that was enough to convince me to find a safer terrain, so I finished my second loop in the forest and went back to the asphalt. Then at one of my usual turning points, I hesitated, and finally decided to keep going on one of my old longer loops. As a bonus, it followed a path with nice views of the sun getting ready to set. Finally, in the end, I added several short loops to reach over 8 miles, definitely one of my longer runs in a while. Of course, at an average pace of 7:42 min/mile, that is a bit slow, but with how I was feeling when I started, it's actually better than I hoped.

Tomorrow is supposed to stay sunny and not too hot in the low 70s. I'm hoping to go for some easy hiking and/or biking for active recovery, then finish the month on Monday with a decent run. I only need about 8km to beat last month total mileage.

Till then, keep Exhausting!
