Staying above target - Evening Run

I just finished a 11.932km running that lasted about 0hh:55mm:43ss !

The conditions tonight were much better to run: mild temperature around 68F (or 20 degrees Celsius), and low humidity. The sky was also perfectly clear, which is a bonus for the sunset. Of course, that helped my motivation a lot, and I wanted to run at least 10k. I ended up running almost 12k, so it's good for my mileage this month. With that run, I'm already at 55km, clearly way above my daily target (to reach 120km at the end of the month). I started as usual on the asphalt (it's just crazy right now in the forest with mosquitoes), legs were a bit sore from the previous runs this week, but not too bad. I didn't feel like I was doing really good, but after 2 miles, I saw my time wasn't bad at all, so I decided to keep going on one of my old routes through one of the University campuses. Clearly I slowed down a bit after the second mile, but the average pace at 7:30 min/mile is on-par for my current form. I even could sprint a bit at the end.

Once again, lots of deer and rabbits out there. At that time of the day, just around dusk, it's pretty usual, but I like it. Mosquitoes apparently stay in the woods because I was not attacked, even when I ran along the forest edge. I also ran past some of the restaurants that are all reopened now, and even though none of them are fancy gourmet cuisine, the smell was really good! I usually have my dinner much later, but that did make me hungry (to be fair, I'm almost always hungry 😉).

Tomorrow is a question mark. Lots of rain in the forecast for Sunday, so I feel like I should run a few miles tomorrow with good conditions similar to today (maybe just a bit warmer but not too hot yet), but I also think it would be a good day for a long hike in one of the local parks. I guess it will depend if any of my friends are interested in hiking as well.

Till then, keep Exhausting!
