First run in snow this year - Evening Run

I just finished a 6.925km running that lasted about 0hh:34mm:13ss !

I was planning a run yesterday night and in the afternoon I was wondering which shoes to wear, with or without spikes. We had a little bit of snow but some friendly neighbors with pick up trucks cleaned up some of the local streets. So probably bad for the spikes. In the end, I got lazy and didn't run at all, so no problem... And today, no question about it, with the new snow we got overnight and during the day, the spikes were pretty much a must, along with the gaiters. First time running with them this year, it takes a little bit of getting used to, but it quickly starts feeling like normal. Running in snow stays tough though. The amount of energy needed for each step is so much greater than usual, I started tiring much sooner. Of course, the varying conditions from deep light powder, to hard-packed icy snow, with everything in between, it doesn't help at all. That explains the slower pace. Still not too bad though, but I really had to work at it, I got a good sweat in spite of the cold (somewhere around -6 degrees Celsius) and my legs were hurting in the end. Glad I went anyways, it should be good for my training.

My GPS acted up again, but not as bad as the other times, and surprisingly in the middle of the run. With a little research, I found a solution that might fix that very issue, but I didn't want to try it yet because it is so counter-intuitive (turn off high accuracy option in order to get more accurate recordings, really??). But it's starting to really annoy me, so I'll probably have to try it soon and see if it helps. Most likely not tomorrow because I think I will take an active rest day, but maybe Wednesday if it's not too cold even for me (the feels like is supposed to drop below -20 degrees Celsius in the next couple of days) or if I don't get lazy again.
Till then, keep Exhausting!
