The First Autumn Hike My Actifit Report Card: September 25 2021 [PL/EN]

[PL] Pierwszy weekend jesieni był z przytupem. Wysokie Tatry, rewelacyjna pogoda - szczególnie, że przyszła po deszczowym i chłodnym tygodniu - oraz fantastyczne towarzystwo Siostry nr 2, jej koleżanki i Trapera.

[EN] The first weekend of the autumn started with a high note. Both literally as we hiked in the High Tatras and figuratively as we enjoyed excellent weather in even better company of Sister No 2 and an old friend of mine called the Trapper.

[PL] Jagnięcy Szczyt (SK - Jahňací štít) wznosi się na 2230m. Jest położony w pobliżu Łomnicy (SK - Lomnický štít) i jest pierwszym patrząc od wschodu szczytem w głównej grani Tatr Wysokich.

[EN] Jahňací štít (literally "Lamb's peak) is the furthest to the east peak in the main ridge of the High Tatras.

[PL] Szczyt był dla nas planem B. Celem wyjazdu była Świnica i Orla Perć. Ale po chłodnym tygodniu i opadach śniegu w Tatrach, zrezygnowaliśmy z ambitnych planów. Wybraliśmy szczyt niższy, położony na Słowacji, czy po południowej, cieplejszej stronie. Był to strzał w 10. Pogoda piękna, widoki pocztówkowe. Przede wszystkim - weszliśmy i wróciliśmy bezpiecznie. I chociaż sam szczyt był przykryty chmurą, to cała wyprawa była znakomitym początkiem kalendarzowej jesieni. Wystarczy popatrzeć na zdjęcia!

[EN] The peak was our plan B, as our original destination, in the Polish part of the Tatras, had gotten a cover of early snow. Slovakian Tatras are to the south and they are generally warmer. Our bet was the bull eye. The hike was safe and we enjoyed perfect weather, and even though the peak itself was in clouds, we had fantastic views on the ascend and descend. [PL] Staw który pokazuję na zdjęciach to Zelene Pleso, czyli Zielony Staw. Z ujęcia poniżej widać skąd wzięła się nazwa. Nad brzegiem schronisko.

[EN] The little lake pictured above is called Zelene Pleso, which means Green Pond. The photo below shows whence the name came from. By the shore of the lake there's a mountain hut.

[PL] Pogoda przez cały dzień dopisywała, ale szczyt był w chmurze. Od południowej strony była to ciepła chmura. Gdy jednak przeszliśmy na drugą stronę grani, powiało chłodem i wilgocią.

[EN] The weather was excellent the whole day. However, the peak was shrouded in a cloud. As we approached from the southern side, it was quite warm. But as soon as we crossed over the ridge, we could much colder and dump air.

[PL] To nie zabłąkany pies. To lis. Krążył wokół schroniska czekając na łatwe jedzenie od ludzi. I wcale się nie bał. Nie karmcie zwierząt w górach i zabierajcie resztki i śmieci z powrotem na dół!

[EN] This fox knew that people around the mountain hut are a cheap source of food. It wasn't afraid of people. When hiking, remember to take your waste back and do not feed wild animals.

[PL] Jeden z elementów udanej wyprawy to… możliwość ściągnięcia butów i skarpetek. Ten czas powoli się kończy, więc korzystam z luksusu póki można ;-)

[EN] One of key elements of a good hike is… the possibility to take off boots and socks and enjoy the sun. Autumn and winter will not offer such possibilities so I take advantage of the luxury when I still can ;-)
