People call them positions but treat them as states of spirit over a body because the body is what benefits from the spirit. The best approach is to take yoga as a ground reality technique and strictly from that end during the knowledge adoption phase. Start with only a few states, best the simple ones, do it for a week that way, and read through the instructions in detail. Most definitely try to find a traditional approach, because the Western modification is obscured by physical dominance and our vessels can't benefit truly within themselves.
