My Actifit Report Card: August 14 2023

My old mate, the blue tongue lizard, who usually lives under our hot water system. The weather has just started warming up, and he was out and about.

It is hard, but you can just make out his blue tongue in the close-up.

Fitness wise, I ended up with a double run/walk day with some bonus strength training to make the 25k activity count.

Yes I am almost sure it is the same lizard that I have been seeing up the side of our house, under the hot water system for over 20 years.

Love the pics of the blue-tongued lizard, Brad. They have a poisonous bite, so like most Australian reptiles "look but do not touch" applies. Very common around the Brisbane area, and they can grow quite big. We had one about 45cm long in the back yard at our rented home when living about 400m from the Logan Central Railway Station. I loved having them around, as they kept the cockroaches at bay.

Yes so please keep your pets and young children away from these lizards. I love the blue-tongued lizards, and always enjoy having them around the place when living in SEQ as they kept the 'roaches and other pests from getting out of hand.

I have been really busy offline again the past week or so, and only just now had some time to catch up with comments. Hope all is well with you and your loved ones, my friend - Ian.
