My Actifit Report Card: May 6 2025

Strava spent me my monthly update. I did not miss and was able to run every day. I keep most of my workouts private, mainly just not to bore everyone with a lot of slow zone 2 running in between two harder runs and one longer one per week.

It is all pretty basic stuff, but I am starting to build a decent base, and it is starting to pay off with my fastest 5 kilometre parkrun of the year on the Saturday just gone. 23:04. Hopefully, it won't be too long before I am back in the 22s.

I have done more weekly workout hours in previous months, but that was a lot more cycling and walking. Never this much time purely running.

Easy, slow zone 2 running as helped, but also checking and increasing my protein intake has helped with recovery and gaining some extra strength. I have never really checked it before, I could not be bothered recording everything and making a spreadsheet, l was just assuming I was eating as well as possible.

They recon .8 of a gram of protein x your body weight per day is only just enough to maintain yourself, and you can go up to 2 grams x your body weight if you're some kind of athlete.

It was interesting to do a rough calculation in my head of everything I had eaten the days before, and l was usually under. Just adding an extra protein shake seems to be working wonders.
