Who was watching the masters?

It was worth the watch.

Not the end result because that was never in doubt for the past few holes but all of the stories through the tournament.

The return of Tiger Woods being the main one obviously. Who elsecould have done what he has done.

It wasn't enough that he came back form the brink of failure to win it once again two years ago but then to almost lose his leg in a car accident, come back for his first tournament since it happened and still be in contention halfway through?

I know that he faded away after that but you could see that he was struggling from day three onwards and looked a broken man by the end of day four.

There is just something about haivng him at the course that makes it wirth the watch. He adds something special to the mix when he is playing and it will be a different game when he does eventually retire.

A good result for the Irish.

I'll count McIllroy in this as wel even though he is not properly Irish, he's a mix of Irish, N.Irish and american at this stage. It's hard to make out some times.

His round on day four was somthing special to watch as he tore the course apart in a way that most golfers could never do.

If he could ever put it together over the four days he would be unstoppable. Unfortunatly it just never seems to happen for him and while he gave it everything, Scheffler didn't wobble for a second.

Then came big Shane Lowery in third place for his best finish and a powerful performance. THis man is 100% Irish and it's easy to see it.

Big beard, big belly, big smile and a love of guiness. He's the kind of man oyu meet stumbling down shop street at 4 in the morning looking for a bag of chips.

Somebody needs to give this man a medal. He just happens to be good at golf as well as being a poster boy for the country. THis is who I want representing our country rather than some polished and prepped athletes looking to be signed up by a fashin magazine.

Rough, ready and just gets on with the game. For a county as small as ours it was a huge achievement to have four golfers represented in the masters this year with Powers and Harrington also competing.

It was a fun four days.

Since I am staying up with the baby anyway these night it was the perfect time for me to sit down and watch the golf every night. Coverage here goes until 12.30 and it was the first time i had seen any on tv for a few years.

The finish wasn't that exciting with S. Scheffler steady as a rock until the 18th at least so there was no drama in the finish like we would have hoped but all of the golf before that was brilliant to watch and got me excitied about playing again.

Hopefully I will even get out playing tomorrow even if the standard will be a bit lower. It's like watching anything on the tv, suddenly you get the bug for it again and think that you can do the same as the professionals.

It never works out that way though.

My dad used to obsessively watch golf all the time and I remember him getting me to fetch a beer from under the stairs to drink while watching.

I personally cannot stand to watch it as I would much rather play. I follow the stories and highlights and spend my time on the course whenever possible.

Neat to see Tiger back again for sure. What a journey that guy has had!

I have to admit I enjoyed the bits I did watch this year and good to see Mcillroy back and Butch Harmon mention his swing is back as his shoulders are looser.

I remember those nights a year ago up with the little man. I got through some box sets. Killed two birds with one stone. Let wife sleep so she was delighted with me and got through a couple of great series. Masters was good but when they are showing Tigers every move at dead last while Lowry got little viewing was a pain in the arse. The time he did get air time he was cursing at his caddy like a sailor. 😂

Poor auld Bo got it in the ear a few times for giving him wrong distances! It scuppered his chance as he let the heart rate get up and made some bad swings on the way in after the outbursts.

It truly is a "must watch" TV each and every year. I take that week off from work each year just so I can watch every minute that is broadcast, from the online options at the Master's Website to the CBS broadcast on Saturday & Sunday. I enjoyed the tournament this year as much as any other year, including 2019 when Tiger surprised everyone and won at 43 years old with a bad back and facing the best golfers in the world.

Glad you enjoyed it, and despite your labeling of Rory as a "fake" Irishman, he put on a great show Sunday, going bogy free and finishing it off with a hole-out from the bunker at 18 (along with Colin Morikawa from the same bunker).

cheers..

My favorite part of the whole four days and I watched almost all of the coverage was Sheffler's missed putts on the last green!! I was happy for him to win, as he is a really nice guy it seems, but the missed putts made me an extra €150 in a sweepstake with some mates in Galway!
