My Actifit Report Card: March 26 2024
Yesterday was a bit of an inactive day and very much one of deskbound activity- work lol! Mind you we did go out in the car to our old town of Farnborough to meet Tina’s scout group and one of the leaders was celebrating a major birthday, 60 years young!
The photo I share was taken over the weekend and has me fascinated by the wall patterns, and we purchased a booklet on the church of St Mary’s, Silchester.
The wall paintings date back to 1230 and form part of the original chancel. Red ochre was used to create these decorative patterns.
All of my recent photos have been taken on my iPhone 15 which handles low light amazingly.
I might do this on days where I take no photos, dig back in the archives.

Having original paint from that long ago is impressive. I think a lot of stuff like that got painted over as fashions changed. Churches may have been much more colourful originally.

I think a lot of places would have been more vibrant back in the day because there was no pollution to speak of until the Industrial Revolution begun.
