Dude. Dude.

I work in recovery. I know full well you didn't go and won't take care of yourself. So I'm here to say off you go asap.

Please.

Because if it worsens it's just worse. And if you treat and start to rehabilitate it sooner it heals sooner. See?

Wondered if you'd been today. So thanks for letting me know.

Yeah I know, I know... but nagging me generally doesn't help, I kinda need to work through this at my own pace...

I've now given it 7 days of rest, all pain has gone while walking. Tried a very little run, pain promptly reappeared after 40 meters. Turned and walked home. Have just sent email to local physio with an explanation of the problem and a request for an appointment for further help.

This the first time I've ever gone to physio and is the first time I've ever had a 'sports injury' other than the broken ankle 10 years ago which was very obviously broken and needed an immediate trip to A&E

Oh boy.

Yeah. I know. I also do the exact opposite of what I'm told to do. Still

I've never worked that dynamic out in full. Wonder what that is...

I'll nag suggest stuff anyway. Because I like you and I'd miss you around here.

And your runs are content related. So...

I think it's doctors. For me. I don't like going.

Okay then. Wonder what it is.

They're pretty good with this stuff now. Quickest way back so good on you.

p.s. I've been avoiding calling the dentist and telling them they may not have fixed a tooth properly. Living on paracetamol

See? No judgment here!

Weird isn't it. I've been all set to do something, and then my Dad says "you should do that", and then I decide I no longer want to do it. Is it just rebelling against being told what to do? It can't be that simple surely?!

Maybe we just take it personally, instead accepting that people want to (mostly) help?

Feel free to nag suggest stuff... I may or may not listen initially, but you'll probably be planting seeds in future decisions I make 😅

Oh I will. I know from personal experience that's how it works for us rebels without a clue 😂

Sometimes someone has told me summink and I've blown it off in a huff. Then a couple of years later... "Aaaaaah..."

Wish I'd listened sooner more often. Gawd I could've saved myself years.

But yes. We do need to walk our own way and figure things out for ourselves.

Maybe it's just rebelliousness. Perhaps it's lack of trust? Sometimes I just want things to be different and refuse to accept things for sure. Possibly more and a combination of many things.

Just take care of yourself :D

Maybe it's just rebelliousness.

Maybe its pride and we just perceive it as criticism, no matter how genuine and well meaning the advice may be.

Just take care of yourself :D

I will... try ;-)

Oh. Yes. Great observation!

I'd go deeper though. What's under that?

Not today though. Super tired and am taking a day off for self care. Worked through last weekend and all weekends for a while.

Must rest! (But I have so much I wanna / and need to do)

No. Must rest!

But...

See? "I give myself some very good advice but..." - Alice, Alice's Adventures...

BEEF on Netflix btw. I may actually watch it again 👍🏻

Send healing vibes and cookies! 🍪

Stay you :D
