Hola, querido hiver.

Es día electoral en España. Para ser finales de julio, época en la que muchos están de vacaciones, había mucho movimiento de personas.

En toda mi vida solo he dejado de ir a votar una vez. Y, te soy sincera, no me sentí cómoda por abstenerme. Fue como si fallara en mi misión como ciudadana.

A pesar de que ninguna opción me convence, a menos he dado el apoyo a quien menos rechazo me provoca. Somos privilegiados por tener el derecho a votar, en otros lugares y épocas otros no pueden o pudieron. Solo por respeto a ellos ya me parece importante ejercerlo.

Después vamos a comer a casa de mis padres. Es el cumpleaños de mi madre.

Mi reflexión

El apego es el principal causante de nuestro sufrimiento. En el mismo instante en que te desprendes de las necesidades experimentas una libertad que te aúpa a un estado de plenitud.

Es positivo mantener objetivos que nos ayuden a mejorar día a día. Siempre y cuando recordemos que, tanto si los conseguimos como si no, nuestro valor como persona no aumenta ni disminuye un ápice.

Cualquier puesto relevante que alcances puede desaparecer en segundos por causas completamente ajenas a ti y de las que no tienes el control. Tenlo presente ante cada golpe de suerte.

Asimismo, recuerda también en las malas temporadas, cuando llegan noticias tristes, ante desgracias que tocan de cerca, que igual que llegaste te marcharás. Que el mundo giraba antes de que nacieras y lo seguirá haciendo cuando mueras. Nada es tan importante, ni por bueno ni por malo.

Bitácora del día

Por la mañana: labores domésticas, ir a votar, escritura.

Por la tarde: pasamos toda la tarde en casa de mis padres.

It is election day in Spain. For the end of July, a time when many people are on holiday, there was a lot of movement of people.

In all my life I have only ever failed to vote once. And, to be honest, I didn't feel comfortable abstaining. It felt like I was failing in my mission as a citizen.

Even though I am not convinced by any of the options, at least I supported the one I disliked the least. We are privileged to have the right to vote, in other places and times others cannot or could not. Just out of respect for them, it seems important to me to exercise it.

Afterwards we go to eat at my parents' house. It's my mother's birthday.

My reflection

Attachment is the main cause of our suffering. The very moment you let go of your needs you experience a freedom that propels you to a state of fulfilment.

It is positive to maintain goals that help us to improve day by day. As long as we remember that, whether we achieve them or not, our value as a person does not increase or decrease one iota.

Any relevant position you achieve can disappear in seconds for reasons completely beyond your control. Keep this in mind with every stroke of luck.

Likewise, remember also in bad times, when sad news arrives, when misfortunes strike close to home, that just as you arrived you will leave. That the world was turning before you were born and will continue to do so when you die. Nothing is so important, neither good nor bad.
