Hola, querido hiver.

Ayer por la tarde terminé con el ánimo bajo. Ya me ha ocurrido más veces: sin que suceda nada relevante me empiezo a encontrar triste y desanimada. Mi cabeza se ve envuelta en pensamientos catastrofistas y la ansiedad asoma la patita.

Lo curioso del caso es que soy perfectamente consciente de que no hay motivos para esa desazón. Tengo salud, a mi familia y no me falta nada material. Mi teoría es que esto me pasa por la combinación de varios factores. Por una parte, mi alta sensibilidad ante el cambio de tiempo que las lluvias han traído con el añadido de la proximidad del otoño. Por otro, los cambios hormonales que mi edad conlleva.

Es como si fuera acumulando y acumulando malestar hasta que un día cualquiera exploto y derramo lo que llevaba dentro. Y al hacerlo me quedo tranquila y en paz. Además necesitaba descansar, porque tras haber pasado una noche de sueño abundante y reparador me he levantado mucho mejor.

Mi reflexión

En las temporadas de calma y tranquilidad contamos con tiempo para fortalecernos. Mal haríamos si nos dedicamos a tumbarnos al sol o al abrigo, olvidando la tarea más importante de nuestra vida que es ser fuerte y resistir en las desgracias.

Cualquiera vale para dar un paseo en la primavera, cuando la temperatura acompaña y las flores que brotan alegran la vista y nos aportan su belleza. Lo valioso es salir a caminar en el invierno, plantando cara al viento y el frío, donde la única compañía son las ramas desnudas de los árboles y hasta el sol permanece escondido tras la niebla.

La lección de hoy me recuerda que cada día es el momento de prepararme para lo que venga. Es vital prestar atención a mis reacciones ante los pequeños eventos cotidianos, pues son oportunidades de entrenar mi mente y espíritu para las grandes desgracias en el caso de que el futuro desee ponérmelas delante.

Sé que sucumbiré en más ocasiones de las que deseo, pero por más que falle el éxito llegará si logro levantarme tras cada una de mis caídas. Para eso, las oportunidades serán numerosas y todas aportarán. Seré fuerte. Soy fuerte.

Hi, dear hiver.

Yesterday evening I ended up in low spirits. It has happened to me more than once before: without anything relevant happening, I start to feel sad and discouraged. My head gets wrapped up in catastrophic thoughts and anxiety rears its ugly head.

The funny thing is that I am perfectly aware that there is no reason for this unease. I have my health, my family and I don't lack anything material. My theory is that this is due to a combination of several factors. On the one hand, my high sensitivity to the change in the weather that the rains have brought with the addition of the approaching autumn. On the other hand, the hormonal changes that my age brings with it.

It's as if I were accumulating and accumulating discomfort until one day I explode and spill what I had inside me. And in doing so, I feel calm and at peace. I also needed to rest, because after having spent a night of abundant and restful sleep I woke up much better.

My reflection

In the seasons of calm and tranquillity we have time to grow strong. It would be wrong for us to spend our time lying in the sun or in the shelter, forgetting the most important task of our life, which is to be strong and to resist in misfortunes.

Anyone is good for a walk in the spring, when the temperature is warm and the flowers that bloom brighten up the view and bring us their beauty. The most valuable thing is to go for a walk in winter, facing the wind and the cold, where the only company is the bare branches of the trees and even the sun remains hidden behind the mist.

Today's lesson reminds me that each day is a time to prepare for whatever comes. It is vital to pay attention to my reactions to the small everyday events, for they are opportunities to train my mind and spirit for the big misfortunes should the future wish to put them in front of me.

I know that I will succumb on more occasions than I wish, but no matter how much I fail, success will come if I manage to pick myself up after each of my falls. For that, the opportunities will be numerous and all will contribute. I will be strong. I am strong.

Afternoon: content curation, various Hive tasks, walk with my husband and the puppy.

I experience the same at times, especially as the days grow shorter and rainier....
Wintertime lack of sunshine in the Pacific Northwest, can bring about "SAD" seasonal affective disorder.
More outdoor hikes are the answer for me!😄

Absolutely agree with you. As soon as the sun has returned, I have improved. I don't trust myself because those weeks you describe are approaching, if I could I would hibernate like bears until spring. 🤣
