My Actifit Report Card: September 13 2023


Hello everyone! Pozdrav svima!
Today I went to play our company weekly football match after work. Last week I left my lungs and legs there, so I was recuperating whole week. My legs muscles finally stopped being sore and I was ready for the match.
It was going to be LEGEN... wait for it... DARY! Yeah, it was going to be legendary!
But it wasn't...
I got injured after 10 minutes of play! And no, I didn't get tackled, or roughed - I was fighting for a ball and all of a sudden sharp pain went through my upper leg!
My right leg rectus femoris, biggest front leg muscle, got pulled or stretched too much and I couldn't play any more.
I tried to stay and play as a goalkeeper but then my left leg started to hurt at the same muscle as he right one so I had to call it a day.
I was devastated. I was looking forward to this day whole week and it ended after few minuter of play. And the worst part is that I don't know how serious this injury is, and how long will it take me to heal up.
I'm not in my 20s anymore (I'm 40 y/o, soon 41), and I never experienced injury like this before. I'm always careful with warming up and stretching before any exercises, as I was even today, so I'm totally baffled with this.
Any advices, how to speed up my recovery? Is there a chance that I will be able to play in one week?
