I can't remember the last time I felt like this. It was such a rush.
So it's been more than 18 months since I did anything exercise related and I've been quite unhappy about it. However with everything that involves work, the mind of a procrastinator has its way of formulating reasons to almost certainly extend the deadline.
Prior to the last 18 months, I would say I had a regimented routine of exercises. Wake up 5am, jog for about an hour thirty, do some aerobics – jumping jacks, sit-ups, push-ups and the likes – take my bath and head straight to work lighter than the previous day.
I won't say I particularly liked exercising, but I liked how I felt after. The sense of achievement, the weightless feeling, the thought of a healthier body all made me forgo the pains of waking up very early to expend energy.
Like I said I was exercising regularly before the last 18 months and I think my running boots got bad and somehow I never got around to replacing them. I always had this thought in my head telling me not to jog until I buy the perfect boots that would make running a little more effortless and guess what, I never bought them.
I love food and I have a humongous appetite. Now imagine eating the way I do and not exercising for almost 2 years. Sighs I gradually started replacing my clothes instead of the running boots.
I had replaced my younger brother, who had been overweight and had somehow viciously exercised to be physically fit in less than 6 months. I was the one getting to his former “glory”. Hahahaha
The constant “what have you been eating” or “you’ve begun eating so much money” or “where is your weight getting to”, always made me feel worse but the hold of the procrastinator in me was far stronger than any comments from people and so I continued being unhealthy and fairly unhappy.
Upon getting on Hive, I've try been positively influenced by the posts of @steevc and @liftslikealady who constantly write on their workout routines. @steevc has his runs while @liftslikealady has her runs and also hits the gym for some cardio. Their posts have been an encouragement and so yesterday I inquired about my brother’s workout routine which pushed me over the cliff...so to speak.
This morning I jogged a good enough distance that many would be proud of after 18 months. I'll tomorrow again. If I do, I'll tell you guys about it. Fingers crossed.
Physical exercise is very good for the body.
Love to see you doing this kind of exercise ❣️
Good post 📯
Thanks. It's to build up consistency.
You go! !LUV the strength to exercise daily. I know I can’t!
@amyx(2/3) gave you LUV. H-E tools | connect | <><
You can. Just put your mind to it.
Thanks! I’m trying to be better!
Well done on getting back to it. It's easy to make excuses not to. Hope you feel the benefits.
Thanks for your help. Hopefully it'll be the first.

Ha, there was i time i had four different sizes in clothes in my dresser! I feel you there... ehehe
Hahaha how did you cope? Alternating between clothes
Some called me Yo-Yo at the time... hahaah Lucky me i'm a trained chef and have started, first: not work in the business anymore, second: doing all the cooking from scratch at home, third and most important for me: handle the quantities i eat and finish when i still "feel hungry"... 😊
This is actually a lot of discipline. I doubt I can ever do this because I love food.
yeah, lucky me i'm still kind of a YoYo
Up and down, back and forth...hahahaha
Also been trying to get into exercising and it's so hard, I have settled on starting with dance workouts.
I hope you reach your fitness goals and you don't fall off.
Dance workouts are a good way to start. You will surely improve your fitness with that.
Yeah, hopefully I do.
That is how it has and it's been for me, I love the benefits I get when I engage in exercises but the doing has never been easy, because I always find myself waking up late due to stress and also waking up to get something done and during this process I just tell myself tomorrow I'll make sure to do the needful but I still find myself saying the same thing every day 🥺.
Exercises is not easy but it is very important for our well-being, I'm happy you've started yours, it's nice.
Procrastination is the thief of time. Everyone knows this but only the disciplined can ward it off. I believe if you continue you won't just build tolerance, you might yearn for it daily.
Yeah, that's the whole truth. I'm even tried of myself and procrastination😥.
Hahahaha... You need to read some books and also know time waits for no one.
Yeah, I will
