Sunday morning with light snow and rain
Started the day at 04:00, it was a difficult night where my thoughts got the better of me. Easy morning routine with a nice cup of fresh ginger tea helped me to reset a bit.
At 06:30 my kids joined me downstairs and wanted to go outside straight away as there was snow for the first time since februari.
Fun to play around for a bit!
At 07:15 I left the house for a run. While the temperature was 1C , the wind and the rain made it feel considerably colder. Which was fine as I needed the headspace.
Despite the rough night I could really enjoy the weather and the views. The strong wind however was a good wakeup call to have a flexible strategy ready next week as a plan B should KISS pacing should be too difficult due to the weather.
Overal, my run today showed that I am ready for the distance, I ran comfortable at low heartrate (which might be a little surpressed due to the cold), but it was basicly effortless.
The temperature and time also allowed me to run completely alone today no other runners or cyclist around which helps with the feeling of being there close to nature!

4am, typical time when you are having stress or anxiety, happen me too, 4,30 am and no way to sleep more... Kids love snow, last time I had it here was like 6-7 years ago
Great dedication you showed there running in the cold and snow! Glad to hear it was basically effortless, and the heart rate was nice and low. The cold will affect that for sure. It's a good sign for race day though, you'll be ready for anything!
It sounds like your kids had fun in the snow, it's always fun at the first snowfall for the children. It doesn't look like it piled up too much which is good, no plowing or shoveling the snow needed!
Beautiful pictures, I can tell must have been taken from inside a bag to save the phone from moisture. That last one is nice though!
I love spending time with my family during the weekend and I try my best to spend time with my family and kids during the weekend. Spending time with them helps me get rid of all my tiredness. Your post has motivated me to spend time with my family no matter how tough the routine is.No doubt, after running, our body becomes very active and we feel very refreshed.
