Description from Strava: @cycling
A lot to take in fromy first race of the year. Issues in transition when I rocked up with no room to put anything. The guys around me in my age group were no help, so improvised and got some room for myself.
Swim was freakin amazing. 27 minutes and my fastest ever pilot bay swim. Felt really good and pushed hard for the whole swim.
Out on the bike I felt really good. Wind started to pick up as the morning went on but the rain didn't eventuate, which was awesome. I thought I did really well and pushed hard for the entire ride. My pace was actually faster than my last Olympic distance triathlon, so really should be happy with that. I felt like the last 20km or so I had a lot of people pass me heading back to the Mount, so a little annoyed with myself although I think I am being a little hard on myself.
