On Friday mornings there is a run group in the Auckland domain that meets every week at 6.30am to do an interval session. I have been trying to get back to running early mornings again but have really been struggling, so thought if I committed to something like this would actually get me to do it.

It was good fun to meet some more runners and do the session where we started with a 3km warm up followed by a session on the grass track where we did the following:

  • 400m hard, 200m jog
  • 200m hard, 200m jog
  • 200m sprint, 200 jog
We repeated the above three times before a cool down. I also got an extra kilometer as I ran back to the train station to catch the train home.

1 week down and hopefully I can stick with it and hopefully get a few extra people to come along.

Stay Strong Everyone!

Great workout, congrats!

6:30 is extremely early. When did you wake up, at 4?

Yet, it's an excellent habit. To run early is to have the most important thing of the day done first and you can carry on with ease :)

Yeah I did have to get up pretty early but it was worth it and you're right, it's awesome to get a run done early and out of the way.
