Through the city center (Eng/Esp)

English version

Today's walk was not for pleasure but out of necessity. My youngest daughter was examined by her pediatrician because she had been having breathing problems while sleeping for two days, and the recommended treatment resulted in a list of five medications to be taken urgently, as everything pointed to an allergic reaction.

So I began my pilgrimage to the pharmacies that were open in the city of Cumaná. The first ones I visited were those near the hospital, located on Gran Mariscal Avenue. After inquiring about prices, I decided to go to the city center and visit all the ones that were open on Bermúdez Avenue and Mariño Street.

The mission was not easy. The prices of some medicines had been updated and the cost had risen considerably compared to last December. Every pharmacy I visited was a test of faith. I also noticed that most stores had increased the price of their products in dollars, which I confirmed when I asked about diapers.

Thankfully, I was able to find two pharmacies with domestic medications at a good price and was able to purchase what Alma needed to sleep. There was no other option but to walk around and investigate, as the price difference between one pharmacy and another seemed disproportionate, even doubling the price.

So in these cases, it's also worth walking quite a distance because the current situation in the country is not conducive to leaning toward convenience and shopping at the nearest store to avoid the sun, fatigue, and unpleasant experiences.
