Wow, $1 was good for four days? That is truly amazing!!! Here in the US, the cheapest you can do by preparing home-cooked meals is $3 to $5/day. These are essentially low-cost meals, such as Pasta/Rice dishes; stews/chili; sandwiches like grilled ham and cheese or simple grilled cheese, chicken and veggies using chicken drumsticks, which is often cheaper than wings or breasts, and paired with rice or pasta; taco salad using ground beef, beans, and fresh veggies can be cheaper than takeout!
Too bad that Linda couldn't make it! Your friendship could have grown, and there would have been a reason to see her again, with more to share... that's really sad. There will be other opportunities, let's hope!'You know, I haven't tried coconut milk... I've used it a thousand times in cooked dishes, but never taken it as is.
Your day was full, and thanks for sharing it with us, sis.

Hey sis! I'm thinking of looking the organization up and seeing just what all they do and how they do it. Maybe that will answer the riddle of how a $1 lasts 4 days for one refugee.

Linda didn't make it to church today either, which had me worried. When I got home, I called her and she answered. She said she wasn't feeling well which is why she missed. She's better now which is good. We are heading up there tomorrow as I purchased a locking mailbox for her and Mike will install it tomorrow when I go up for my every other Monday visit. I am hoping to cheer her up a little.

Love ya back! πŸ€—πŸ˜˜πŸ˜β€οΈ !HOPE !INDEED !PIMP
