Reminder: Round 5 of the Hivechess Tournament S10 , Friday, 20h GMT

avatar
(Edited)

Dear chess fans!

the fifth round of S10 is played this Friday 11th Feb., 20h GMT, as usual. Indeed, we are approaching halftime in this season!
The current standings after the first 4 rounds you can find here.

It will be a time mode which I think I have never tried out (on the Friday series) - 3 min. plus 3 sec. increment. With this increment players will have full 3 minutes more after 60 moves, so I can imagine that Berserkers could face occasionally some challenge to win their games in 90 seconds! OK, they can use the thinking time of their opponents to their favor, but let´s find out...

Time Mode: 3+3 (3 minutes per game, 3 sec. increment), arena mode, no streaks

Tournament Link: https://lichess.org/tournament/huDSjY3N

There are already app. 178$ (152 Hive) in the pricepool!

RULES

  • For Hivers, Steemians, Blurters, noise.cashers and all others!

  • Players of all skill levels are welcome, from newbies to experts, you just need a free Lichess-account!

  • Every Friday is one round

  • Time mode is varying (5+0, 3+2,...), rated, berserking allowed (except in Swiss mode)

  • The winner of each round gets the number of points equaling the number of players in that round, the second ranked one point less and so forth until the one on the bottom of the table who gets one point.

  • Occasionally a round may be divided into 2 skill classes

  • In case two players have the same number of points, the one who played less rounds is first. If that is equal too, then the average tournament performance decides.

  • PAYOUT: This season goes over 10 rounds and the tournament points are summed up. All Hivechess-related post rewards are pooled and 80% go to the price pool (PP). The tournament winner will get 25 Hive bonus, a unique NFT trophy and the rest of the PP is divided among all players according to the number of tournament points achieved, but only if a player has participated at least 3 times (if <3 games are played in a round it will be not counted)!

  • There will be special prices for the highest overall tournament performance and the highest performance in relation to the own rating (counted by averaging the rating after the first and the last round)

  • If I don´t know your Hive username, I can´t consider you in the final rankings, so please let me know your Hive name in the comments or in the Lichess chat!

  • If you have not yet joined our team in Lichess, please do it here, so that you can participate (required for the Swiss tournaments only).

Please share this announcement among your (chess) friends and colleagues!
The more participate, the more fun! And maybe some are even interested to join Hive and it´s Chess Community?

See you tomorrow and good luck to all!

and again i miss the second week in a row, not only because it's too fast, but also because it's impossible to win:)

It is quite normal that there are always better players around.

yes, but there should be more chances. If suddenly there are those who want to play more slowly and win - redirect them to me, at about the same time I will play in two rounds of the through tournament

By the way, I always wanted to join one of your tournaments, but I never found a Lichess (or chess.com)-link to it provided in your posts or the one from @antipops. Once I succeeded, but then there were no other players, so I guess I am not the only one. It is quite frustrating, so I gave up.

after merging the two halves of the table, the links moved under the scroll, but they no longer make sense - they are fixed. I play chess.com all the time, I finally managed to establish a dialogue with technical support, I hope they will fix the abstract algorithm and bugs; and hivers are spoiled for simplicity:)

For 40 minutes every day the tournament is ticking for them, but they are waiting for each other. Today's daily report (translation scheduled for 19:10 GMT) just describes this global effect

3+3! Berserking would be difficult especially against similar rating range (+-200), I'd guess.

This Friday, 28 is certainly a typo. Wish you good games! !invest_vote

3 + 3 is a great time against the berserkers, if you don’t hurry and panic in the end game :).

For a second I thought it was today! I hope I won't lose the sense of time tomorrow. See you then.
