Description from Strava:
I was timekeeping at parkrun, so wanted to do a long run today. Yesterday we also finally moved the chickens into their new run. They seem happy enough, but their water was frozen this morning.

Last night was the much awaited return of Doctor Who with David Tennant and Catherine Tate back for more after a few years. Russel T. Davis is in charge again and he has a good sense of fun. I really enjoyed it. This was an old-school episode with a big budget (thanks to Disney getting involved). I suspect someone will say it has 'gone woke' (whatever that means) as they had trans and disabled characters. I see nothing wrong with that. Part of the fun of the show is that you could imagine the Doctor taking you on an adventure and that should be open to everyone. We should not expect aliens to have human biases anyway.

As for my run, I put on gloves and a hat to fend off the freezing temperatures and set off. It was all a bit frosty out there. The Christmas lights have been turned on by the village hall and the chip shop has some festive window paintings. I headed up to Fairfield as usual, but diverted out the other side past the horse field and then up the big hill to the Grange. I had to walk the last little bit up there.

I have not been up there in a while. I ought to do that parkrun again some time, but would avoid the really muddy times. Some guys were about to play some football on the playing fields. Coming out the other end in Norton there is a new road crossing with a path laid across the grass.

Coming out of Norton I took the Greenway through Radwell Meadows. There were a few runners there and some cyclists. It was muddy in places, but the cold means it is not too wet. I went on into Stotfold. It occurred to me that I have never been close to the old church there and I did not pass it today, but I did explore a road I have not been down before. It was a dead end, but a footpath let me get through and then I had to figure out where I was.

I took the direct route back to and through Arlesey as I had done enough. I was not feeling too bad after a third of a marathon. I find I soon warm up and my legs were fine in shorts.

I have some more chores to do today, but will rest from running for a few days.

Enjoy your Sunday and run free!

I've not watched Dr Who in years. I started watching the newer episodes a few years back and think I got to the end of Billie Piper's time. Thoroughly enjoyed them. I think I have some DVDs of the older episodes in the loft. I didn't watch when I was younger as it scared the crap out of me!

Seem lots of good comments about yesterday's episode - seems to have been well received. I may grab it on catch up later on today.

It's a good one if you enjoyed David Tennant previously. A lot of the old episodes are on iPlayer now. We watched a Peter Davidson story the other day. Have your kids watched it at all? Mine grew up on it and most of us are still into it.

No, unfortunately it isn't something they've got in to, probably because neither the wife or I do. I think the eldest might enjoy it - will have to give her a nudge!

I've just been out again and my toes got cold. No sign of snow yet though.

It started here about two hours ago. It has been steady, but accumulation hasn't been too much.

I was wondering how the Disney money would impact the new episodes. I need to check it out.
