steevc just finished a 7.42km run, that lasted for 45 minutes.
This run helped steevc burn 533.0 calories.

Description from Strava:
It was a little cool and damp out today. I went for my warmer long sleeve top. That can sometimes be too warm, but it was about right today. I thought I would look at a new route opened up by the recently opened road. That road is now showing on the Strava maps that come from the OpenStreetMap project. I wonder who provided the data for that update.

I ran out to the first roundabout and then down a turning that is currently blocked to traffic. That leads past a farm where there were various vehicles that I assume are for the building work. It was a little muddy around there. It leads past the Gothic House nursing home. Then I did my standard run out to Stotfold.

I was doing some 'fartlek' sprints to make myself work a little harder, but with the rain and wind it was tough anyway. At least the wind was more behind me on the way back. I took a few back streets to stretch out the distance.

I was at our pub music session last night, but did not drink much. There were eight of us and I was the youngest. We need some 'fresh blood' there. It was good fun though. I often hear songs for the first time from these guys.

This morning there are some guys putting up scaffolding on the house for the solar panel installation next week. I am working from home, but the noise is not too bad.

I will feature a couple of posts I just read on Hive that may interest some people:

  • Is the BBC biased against cryptocurrency?
  • Some Christmasy art.
  • A long-running comic. You may need to look back at earlier strips to follow it.

Enjoy your day and run free!

That's cool you are getting solar panels. I really want to get some when my wife and I move next time. I'd love to have something more green like that. I think this New Year when my money comes in from not taking health insurance we are finally going to buy a treadmill.

We've got the money for it now and it should be a good investment in the long run. There ought to be more incentives to do it.

Yeah, I wish there was. I wish it was easier to find reliable installers too. A lot of them these days feel like scam artists trying to cash in on the hype and the government subsidies.

I'll post about how our install goes.

I think it would be better to make findings of where you want to pass on the next day run so that you won’t have to stress yourself like this

Due to the daily power cuts, South Africa is making great headway with Solar, and big businesses now all have solar. Private houses are also installing solar in numbers every day. Then we also have some huge wind and solar farms that are waiting to feed into the national grid.
Personally, we don't have solar, as too expensive, but we have a trolley inverter that powers the batteries, and the modem during power cuts. It works very well for the shorter power cuts, but not for the 4 hour or longer power cuts.

It can be beneficial even to just have a battery. You could use it during power cuts, but we could get cheaper power at off peak times. We may do that even with the panels when it is less sunny. I wonder if there will be a market for old batteries from electric cars that could be used for homes. The technology offers some options. Anyway, I shall report on how we get on.

Problem is that lead batteries don't last long, and that's why we have a Lithium battery in the trolley inverter. I like your idea of restoring old EV car batteries for home use, as they are also lithium.
I will read your reports.
