steevc just finished a 10.02km run, that lasted for 58 minutes.
This run helped steevc burn 697.0 calories.

Description from Strava:
After the glorious morning at parkrun yesterday I woke up to rain today. So instead of running we went to Ikea. There was something in particular we wanted and you always end up with more. No huge purchases though. Rather than one of their hotdogs we popped next door to Asda afterwards as they have a Greggs bakery. Got some vegan sausage rolls and with vouchers from the Octopus Energy app we got one of those free plus a free coffee.

We know a song about Ikea.

I could have gone to a jazz jam session, but it was getting late by the time we got back and I needed to clean out the chickens. As the weather had improved I decided to get a run in. I did the standard loop and managed a reasonable pace. It was only slightly slower than my best this year and that was also an afternoon run. Maybe I perform better later in the day. It may help to at least have eaten something.

The photo is of Stotfold Methodist church. There are at least three churches in that village. I have no idea what attendance they get.

There were a couple of odd markings on the path near the church. I have since seen that these were for a club running event to guide them. They do the markers with flour, so they will leave no permanent marks.

Lots of other people were out walking and a few were running. There are some hills on this route, but I think I handled them fairly well. I really hope I can improve my fitness over the next few months so I can see some improvements at parkrun. That is my regular test.

At the end I was not quite going to make it to 10km, so I made a small diversion to get there. I was quite warm by the end and needed to cool down a bit before my shower. I cooked the dinner later on (vegan cauliflower pilaf).

I hope your weekend was good.

Run free!

Running wise, I deffo feel like I perform better mid-late afternoon... my heart rate seems to be a little lower at similar intensities (but thats mostly how it feels, I might be mis-interpreting it haha).

Shame most 'races' start 9-10am in the morning though...

That Methodist church is really big. Running in this area will be fun and I’m sure you enjoyed the snack you bought
