steevc just finished a 6.16km run, that lasted for 42 minutes.
This run helped steevc burn 516.0 calories.

Description from Strava:
I have not run since last Sunday as we have had snow all week which makes it a little dangerous. The footpaths tend to turn to ice. I had volunteered for parkrun yesterday, but it got cancelled that morning. The now is likely to go today as it is going to warm up and rain, but I decided to risk a run anyway.

I wore my trail shoes for extra grip and headed for the fields. To get there I ran on the road to avoid the worst of the ice. One issue is having to cross the footbridge over the railway. That tends not to get treated with salt, so there was a lot of ice on the steps. I held the rail there. All this caution slowed me down, but this run was never about speed.

After the bridge it was a nice run across the white landscape to Henlow Camp. I was surprised at how many people were out walking their dogs, but I did not see any other runners. I did see on Strava that a friend was out that way in the week. One dog walker commented that I was brave. Perhaps she meant that I was running in shorts. I did have a warm top and gloves on as it was still around freezing.

I came back a different way through the pony field. I hope someone was giving them extra food. I crossed a different footbridge that was also treacherous, but survived. Then it was back through the village, again mostly on the road. There was not much car traffic.

My daughter @matildamoment did her first 10km event in Portsmouth today. They did not get the snow, but it was wet. She and her friends were in Santa suits, so maybe that helped keep them warm.

Run free and stay safe.

It's nice to get out, as you say, it's not about speed. I wouldn't run here at the moment the snow is still quite thick but think it will go tomorrow.

You just need to take it steady.

I'm always careful. Anywhere I saw ice I went real slow. It may all be gone in the morning.

Seems difficult, all that I did today was to go to the corner shop for some milk. Hehehe!
