steevc just finished a 6.92km run, that lasted for 40 minutes.
This run helped steevc burn 501.0 calories.

Description from Strava:
We got back from Edinburgh last night after a very long drive. It was inevitable there would be issues on the roads and the satnav took us on an 'interesting' detour down country roads. I slept very well last night.

It was a little wet and windy this morning for my run. I started off running into the wind. Then I headed up the hill to Fairfield. It was pretty quiet out, but then it is that strange time of year when most people have nowhere in particular they need to go. Of course the dog walkers were out.

I just did a lap of the estate whilst listening to some podcasts. I had The Now Show (BBC topical comedy) and Cryptomaniacs (or is it Hive Maniacs?) featuring @theycallmedan talking about @ragnarok.game.

I got a little quicker as I went on, but then the climbing is all in the first half and I had the wind behind me as I came home. I did bump into a friend walking her dog, so stopped for a chat. She is nearly blind and I admire her for going out alone. She does not have a guidedog, just a little terrier.

It was good to get home, but I did need to check on the chickens before I went in. They seem okay. The usual sequence, of breakfast, shower, coffee set me up for the day. Some tidying needed to be done to clear up wrapping paper and put away some presents. I am having some lovely fudge that my son bought me with my coffee.

Happy winterval!

Opened my first chest on Splinterlands, have the hang of it now. You burn 1000 calories and I gain 1000 calories.

Opening the front door is the first step to a better life ;)

I've eaten plenty over Xmas. Not checking what weight I've gained. Still got lots of chocs.

I kind of know what you mean about all of the travel. The holidays are a crazy time. I think we drove back and forth to the city that my wife's family lives in at least four times over the weekend if not more. It's not a long drive, but wears on you. I am really looking forward to doing not much of anything over the New Year's weekend!

I know you guys drive some serious distances, but this was over 300 miles. We had one stop for lunch and then a quick change of driver later on. It can be mostly on one road, the A1, but we diverted off a bit to avoid traffic.

I thought England was only like 100 miles long! :) I'm kidding of course. Sounds like it was pretty close to the same distance we drive to get to my inlaws. Usually takes us about 4 hours on the US Interstate system. Definitely tiring all that sitting and concentrating!

This drive usually takes at least 7 hours even though the roads are pretty good. We only do it about once a year. We might have taken the train, but that would have been really expensive at this time of year.

Trains aren't even an option around here. Not unless you want to get there five days later. They are so slow!

We could fly there, but try to avoid that. Getting to the airports can be a hassle.

Yeah, I can appreciate that. I think it would take much longer to get to our inlaws if it wasn't for the interstate system. That helps a lot when you can cruise along at 70 MPH.

We can do 70 most of the way if the traffic lets us, but you still need breaks.

70 mph or kph?

We still talk miles for speed and distance even though we buy fuel in litres. 70km/h would be pretty slow.

That's why I figured I should check :)

Jees that's a LONG drive - and out in just a T shirt in late December - this weather is worrying!

The weather keeps changing. Extreme events like the one in the US are really worrying.

It is the best time of the year when children and people spend time with their family. Your looks so nice in tea shirt. In my country weather is too cold people's wear double jacket's. I also go to running at five in the morning with my friends. Morning time gives you a different relaxation.

It's not so cold here now compared with a couple of weeks ago.
