steevc just finished a 15.52km run, that lasted for 92 minutes.
This run helped steevc burn 1064.0 calories.

Description from Strava:
This run was inspired by one I saw @dannewton do where he wanted to do 90 minutes so just kept going for 45 and turned back.

It was drier than yesterday, but the wind made it feel cold. Today I was keen to avoid mud, so I stuck to the pavements. Coming out of Arlesey I went over the road bridge over the railway. The issue with that is that the traffic is noisy so I cannot hear my podcasts as well. I followed the main road to Henlow and turned up the High Street. I find running is a good opportunity to check out the houses. There are some nice ones there and a few that have been done up recently.

As you leave Henlow there is a long straight with a narrow path beside it until you get to Langford. There I saw a few other runners. I had not been sure how far I would get in 45 minutes, but I still had a way to go. Langford also has some interesting houses to check out. I just got as far as the new cemetery before it was time to turn around. That did mean running more into the wind and my legs were tiring a bit.

The run back seemed to pass quicker, but my pace was not much different. My podcast listening today was Richard Herring interviewing Rich Hall, In Our Time about Citizen Kane and then I had the start of a Cryptomaniacs. I listen at 1.5x speed to get through more shows.

Coming back I decided to cross the railway on the footbridge. It does not make much difference to the distance, but I do tend to walk a bit to avoid tripping. Then it is just a few minutes to get home.

Funnily enough my pace was exactly the same as Dan's for his equivalent run. I would not want to run much further today, but that makes about 25km for the weekend. I shall rest tomorrow, but then I will be in the office and need to walk a bit.

Have a great week and run free.

Good run, I couldn’t walk that distance. I’m hoping to get exercising soon, from today I’m not smoking so will have that to deal with this coming week. Having to go on statins to get my cholesterol down as well.

You have to build up to it. They would be happy to see more walkers at parkrun. You can just go as far as you feel able. Get out every day and it will improve. We've got nice places to walk around here.

Thats great you run, I need to get back to that. It is amazing how starting off I could only run for maybe 2 or so miles off and on.. But after 6 or so months of running I was getting close to 10 miles.. Its crazy how our bodies grow.

I couldn't have done this a few years ago. You have to train your body. I'm still in awe of people who run much further.

15 km, well done mate - that is a good distance - especially after doing Parkrun yesterday.

Twice what I did today 😀 It was a bit cold out!

We each do what we can. It was not too bad out really. Would have been much worse if it were wet.

what a random coincidence! I don't know how hard you were going, I was going a little faster than I normally would go. But its good to share ideas for training, it helps to keep things interesting, especially if it is something you wouldn't normally try.

That did mean running more into the wind...

yep we had strong headwinds here when I went out earlier, it can make a considerable difference to the effort required! It was a flippin' cold wind as well!

I was not going too hard as parkrun yesterday takes something out of me. I welcome suggestions for mixing up my training. I mostly just make it up.

Fifteen kilometers is a lot of travel you have done by running. One of my friend's father passed away due to which I have not been able to go running for a few days. I will start again from tomorrow. Whatever the age, Running is very beneficial for human health.

How do you do so many running give us some tips. It's just that when someone's love leaves this world, it's a very difficult time for them.

You have to build up gradually. Coaching plans like Couch to 5k can be useful for this. Your body will tell you when you have done too much, but in time you will find you can go further. If you want to run competitively then you could join a club and get proper coaching. I have no special experience on this, but there is loads of information online with lots of Youtube videos about running. Find what works for you.

Nice! A great way to push and get some more km in! Really great work! you are pretty much on track for the challenge. I miss running outside and seeing things outside. Also, like looking at the house etc.

25kms for the weekend deserves some !PIZZA

It's still going to be hard to achieve the challenge distance. I do not generally run 40km/week and do not log every walk. It's just for fun anyway.

I have tried for years and failed with running only. That's why I'm mixing it up with cycling this year. Even at my fittest, I couldn't make it! I think it's actually doable.

I get that running is not for everyone. I would like to cycle more, but I don't always find the time. With running I can get a good workout in less time. It works for me.

Definitely. I prefer it as well. Cycling outdoor is not for me either. I prefer the run. More control and I love the feeling of pushing the body to limits!
