This run helped steevc burn 532.0 calories.

Description from Strava:
I actually missed my long Sunday run this week. It was raining and I did not feel like going out. Yesterday was cold, but sunny with today forecast for more rain. When I got up it was dry, so I ran. I just did a loop around Fairfield. It was cool out (4C), but that is okay by me. I did feel a few spots of rain, but it mostly held off.

I saw a couple of other runners out there as well as the usual walkers. Some of those greet me. A bird flew out of a bush ahead of me and I realised it was a jay. I do not see too many of those. Shortly after that I passed a pheasant. They are pretty birds, but do not seem very bright.

The run started off feeling like hard work and the pace was not great, but it improved as I went on and I was moving well as I headed back. Sometimes it just feels right. Not that I would be considered quick by serious runners. We each do what we can.

Just after I had my breakfast it started raining, but did not last too long. It is predicted to rain through the day. I hope it stops by the time I go out after work.

I have a busy week with a couple of trips into London, but I will try and fit in more runs.

Run free.

We got back just before the rain started this morning.. only walking though, giving my knee a rest.
We should only measure ourselves against ourselves. We are all different and although it helps to strive to higher heights, it can also be disheartening if you just can't get there, so, as you say, we just do what we can.
Happy running.

I tend to say that if you are making some effort at exercise then you are doing better than a lot of people. I see others doing far more than me and achieving things I may never do. That's fine. I have my own goals.

I went pheasant hunting once. It was kind of fun. I'd like to try it again one day. Nice job on your run.

They are common around here and I expect some people shoot them. Not my thing.

I think seeing a couple of other runners will make you motivated. This works for me but I don't know about you.
Keep it up!!

I'm a solo runner, but it's good to see others out. We nod as we pass.
