Description from Strava:
It was a lovely spring morning. My other half decided to join me as the mud should have dried out now. So this was her second parkrun and first at Henlow Bridge Lakes. We walked briskly to the course with a short jog along the way. She actually knows a couple of the regulars, one through her work.
I set off fairly quick, but know not to try and keep up with the really fast people. It is still soft in some places, but you do not get too mucky. There was some swapping of positions, but we settled into it after a lap. It never feels easy, but I was running quite well despite a niggle from my hip.
I had expected to lap the missus, but there was no sign of her. I just had to keep pushing until the end with the usual 'sprint'. I think this was my second best time there and only 4s off the best, but I have been quicker on other courses.
I walked back along the course to find my better half and then kept pace with her to the finish. She improved on her last attempt at Southsea, but had hoped for better. We walked home gently to have a shower and then headed out shopping. The weather has stayed nice and it is a long weekend.
