steevc just finished a 7.53km run, that lasted for 45 minutes.
This run helped steevc burn 561.0 calories.

Description from Strava:
I had considered a run yesterday, but it was raining when I woke up. All dry today, so I headed out. In the last couple of nights I have been waking up really early and struggling to get back to sleep. That is not helping my energy.

It was fairly warm out there as I ran up the road. I did my usual loop of Fairfield. It may be a little cooler under the trees there. My hip was not too bad. I did some stretches before and after the run in case that helps. I had a swim the other night that may also help my recovery. I hope to make lots of use of our pool this summer.

I was wearing my old On shoes as I may give up on the new Allbirds I got (Tree Flyers). They are just not working for me and maybe they played a part in aggravating my hip. I am thinking of getting some of the model I had previously (Dasher) that were more comfortable.

It looks like we are getting a new barber. The Turkish ones are popping up everywhere and I wonder if it is linked to the newish kebab shop. Both of these shops have been barbers before, but the bigger one was a butchers when we moved here. They have changed hands a few times since then.

I am keeping an eye on the parkrun volunteer list in case they need me, but they only have a couple of positions to fill for Saturday. With more people attending I would hope that will result in more willing helpers. I think everyone should give something back as it is a free event.

Run free and stay well.

Finding the right shoes can be a chore for sure. I think I have about three or four pair sitting downstairs that just haven't quite worked out for me. Nice job on your run. I really didn't want to get up this morning after playing 18 holes of disc golf last night, but I managed.

I've been fairly lucky with shoes so far. Getting them online rather than in person is a slight risk, although some can be returned. I just ordered another pair of the previous Allbirds shoes as I know those work for me.

I think it's hard to tell until you really break them in. They might feel good in the store, then when you really get moving they rub in weird places. Probably best to stick with the brand and style you know.

The ones that gave me trouble are quite rigid and have yet to soften up. They rubbed on the inside arches of both feet. A lot of the shoe companies keep changing their designs, so you cannot rely on a style being around forever.

Ah, okay. Well hopefully your next ones do better for you. I have a pair that rub my little toe funny and I can't wear them for more than a little bit at a time. They might need to become my new lawn mowing shoes.

Turkish barbers seem to be trendy somehow.. you see them everywhere.
I've not heard of some of those brands.
I was recommended Saucony many years ago because of my overpronation and haven't strayed yet.
Hope your hip gets better.. that could put a stop to things..

Allbirds have good ethical and sustainability policies. I was talking about two of their different shoes I've tried.

Here in Pakistan, it is very hot nowadays, due to which people can't even go out of the house because the temperature is 45.

Apart from the fact thst you really want to burn calories, I can see that running is now part of the things that you love to do whenever you are free. It is a very good one!
