Morning Run - Recovery

I just finished a 7.655km running that lasted about 0hh:43mm:43ss !

I am not totally sure what constitutes a recovery run, but this one was just going to be whatever I felt like. I did my loop in the reverse direction to normal, which means some good segment times for me as I have not done them often. There is a new Strava feature of Local Legends for people who have run a segment the most. I must have run some around here well over a hundred times, so maybe I will qualify.

It is due to get much warmer today, but was not too bad first thing. I saw a red kite swooping over Stotfold again. Very impressive birds. When I got to the underpass heading towards Fairfields it was flooded again, so I had to do the shuffle along the barrier. This compromised my pace a little.

I could perhaps have gone further, but I will save myself for a longer run on Sunday. I saw quite a few runners out. As I came back through Arlesey there were all the kids going to school. I saw my friend Jon taking his daughters.

If you do not know we have a Hive Running club on Strava that you are free to join.

Run free and stay well.

You have uploaded 164 running activities, and 42 of them have been of similar distances (within 10 percent)!
Here are your 5-fastest running activities of a similar distance:

Over these 42 similar activities, you have travelled approximately 309.36 kms at an average pace of roughly 5:51 min/km!
Your latest run was at a pace of approximately 5.71min/km!
Looks like you went a bit faster than usual this time! Nice work!
Have a !BEER for your troubles!

You need to stake more BEER (24 staked BEER allows you to call BEER one time per day)

Day 2 of C25K and I'm waling like I've been riding a horse far too long! I'm trying harder to keep the speed up on the running bits this time around. I think I took it all a little too easy last time and didn't really push myself.

Have to find the right balance. I never did C25k, but I hope it encourages more people to run.

I think a lot of people have been inspired by it - a good number of friends have started their running journey with C25K. Sometimes it's the simple things like structure that people miss and then get disheartened with their progress.

That's good running. I was looking back at when I started running 8 years ago. I was doing over 7 min/km. Now I can get under 5 for short periods. My legs used to ache the next day after a run, but that has improved over time. Have to learn how hard you can push yourself. Don't want to get injured as that can really set you back.

My wife and I did our regular walk this morning. There was a fantastic breeze and the temps hadn't started to climb too high yet. It was actually quite refreshing. We walked in complete silence because I don't think either of us was fully awake yet!
