Morning Run - Accidental 10k
I just finished a 9.801km running that lasted about 0hh:55mm:28ss !
I tend to start the day by looking at my phone to see what has been going on overnight. Not the best of habits, but I expect a lot of people do it. I noticed I got a load of votes on my last Hive post, but the rewards had gone down. I found out that a certain big troll decided to give me a big downvote. I have flagged him before, but not in a while. I guess he still bears a grudge, but I will not bother to retaliate as his posts get wiped out anyway. He does not care about the community, so maybe he will just leave.
I did not let this get me down as the good people outweigh the bad. I had a run to think about and I was planning to do six minute intervals (3 lots). I varied the route a bit by going over the Stotfold. That does involve running on the road for a while where there is no pavement, but it is not busy there. The first sprint was a little slow, but the second was good. Previously I would be happy to get under five minutes, but recently I have been getting under 4:50 and that seems a good pace to aim for. The third was not as quick, but I feel my legs are still tired from Sunday's run.
It was a longer run back than I anticipated, but I took it fairly gently. I had been expecting to do about 8km, but it was about 10 in the end. Mind you, I did divert a bit past the allotments to get away from the road and take the longer way home.
I feel I have seen distinct improvements in my running in recent months. If I could crack the 25 minute 5k I will be happy, but given some performances lately I ought to do that with time to spare. It would just be great to have a parkrun where there are others to push me on as doing it alone is harder.
It is due to be hot again this weekend. I want to do another half marathon, but may have to get up extra early to avoid the heat.
Run free and stay well.

Do not miss the last post from @hivebuzz:
I don't think he will leave but it is bewildering that he continues to waste his time by still posting. Curation must still be worth it.
One comment in a week shows his commitment. He's making more on Steem, but still doesn't comment there. He benefits from a big delegation on Hive, but is powering down. Whatever
Nice work Steve!
Great to see you here still.
I've been running for 18 months now and have finally stopped worrying about my pace. I got the Huawei watch 2 with built in Strava which is amazing. I now just go out and run. Done a 7 miler last week and 4 miles last night. Really steady pace as I started to get Sciatic nerve pain in March time. Are you on Strava?
Sounds like you are doing well. I don't worry about my pace, but improvement is always good. I have achieved things that would have seemed unlikely a few years back. Mainly trying to stay healthy.
I use a Garmin watch and that is syncing to Strava again since they resolved their issues. I'm in the Hive Running Club.
Wow. Nice pace. Did you try to create something with your running map? It looks like a duckling.🙂
I wasn't aiming to draw anything this time. The pace was a bit variable, but keeping it up for those 6 mins is rewarding.
Nice job! Sorry to hear about the downvote. At least you have a pretty decent attitude about it. I don't know if I would be able to be so passe'. Nice job on the run! The weather has been keeping my wife and I from our usual routine. We have some stuff going on this week and then I hope next week we can get back in to the groove. The biggest issue now is the fact that it is still dark at our walking time where earlier in the Summer it was sunrise.
I've had plenty of downvotes over the years. At least the other main troll seems to have given up for now. I make enough to not worry about a few dollars here and there.
The running is going pretty well lately. I just need to avoid the heat, although today has turned out cooler than I expected. I don't get up early enough to see sunrise :)
Every day is a good day when you run.
